Sessions are 90 minutes, term time Tuesdays 4.30-6pm for £5 each week. Please click on the chess club calendar to see information of September dates.
A typical week consists of 10-15 minutes instruction to the group (sometimes split into 2 groups) on the demonstration board, 10-15 minutes solving puzzles and half an hour to play games against other children paired by ability either through a ladder system or ongoing tournament.

- Rough idea of the child's experience? Do they know how all the pieces move? Are they in a school club?
During the games the coaches and volunteers give advice to the players on moves they could have played when they see a big opportunity has been missed. During the session if we have children of different abilities or odd numbers of children then the children rotate playing against volunteers/coaches who give them instruction during the game.
