Hand and Brain Chess Tournament

We are going to hold another of our now regular fun tournaments next week! - Tuesday 2nd August.

It is going to be a "hand and brain" mini-tournament. I know you are saying "what the heck is hand and brain chess, Simon!" Come along Tuesday and find out! but it is sure to be another unusual evening with some fun entertainment. A full explanation will be given next Tuesday, but briefly
Two players play together against another two players, one says the piece name to move (BRAIN) and the other must move it (HAND).
As normal, we start at 7.30pm and select teams early so get to the venue on time to find out who your team member is going to be. !
Will the dynamic team of Jonathan Fowler and Rhys Edwards prevail again - who knows ! Find out next Tuesday.

Bughouse Blowout!

Continuing our events during the Summer Break, next Tuesday 12th July we are going to run a Bughouse event. You may say "what the heck is bughouse" and that would be a very good question!

Briefly, Bughouse is a chess variant that is played by four players divided into two teams of two players each. Allied players work together to checkmate someone from the other side or make them run out of time. There are a few other rules which we will explain next Tuesday however it is exciting, fun and also chaotic at times with pieces, clocks and team members trying to discuss tactics!.
Unlike most chess games talking is encouraged between team members so expect a noisy evening!
All welcome. Start about 7.30pm.
Probably be 5 rounds depending on numbers
